"Couldn’t Find the Lessons"
I’m not sure if it was just me, but I had a really hard time finding the lessons. The menus kept sending me in circles, and I ended up getting frustrated. Maybe I’m missing something obvious, but it didn’t feel very easy to navigate

"I signed up really hoping this would..."
I signed up really hoping this would be one of those courses I’d remember as a turning point, like finally getting past the stuff I’d been stuck on for ages. But quickly, I had that sinking feeling I’ve had before when something looks promising and then stays right on the surface. Most of the lessons felt like beginner material stretched out longer than it needed to be.

The frustrating part was that some explanations would start to get interesting, and I’d think, okay, now we’re going deeper, but then they’d move on. With sound design and mixing especially, I wanted actual problem solving, why certain choices work, how to fix messy situations, not just clicking through presets or adjusting basic settings.
If you’re completely new, I can see it being useful. But for me, at that price, I expected a lot more depth. I finished feeling a little disappointed because I don’t really have that “I learned something I’ll use forever” memory from it, just the feeling that I paid for basics I mostly already knew.

"I’ve used a few Sonic Academy…"
I’ve used a few Sonic Academy plugins they’re decent overall. Some of the presets are really easy to work with, and I was able to get a couple of ideas going quickly. That said, the sound quality felt a little hit or miss to me. A few sounds came across kind of thin compared to other plugins I’ve been using, so I ended up doing extra mixing just to get them sitting right. To be fair, I might’ve just tried them at a bad time when I was already deep into a project and expecting something that would fit instantly. They’re not bad at all, just probably not my first pick right now.

"Honestly, I Expected Way More"
I thought the presets and samples were going to be amazing, but wow, I was seriously disappointed. I opened it up expecting to be inspired and instead just sat there like, “That’s it?” Definitely not worth it for me.

"Felt Too Basic for What I Needed"
I tried sonicacademy because I was struggling with arranging a track and wanted something that would actually walk me through what to do. From my experience, though, it felt a bit too surface-level. The videos would say things like “build tension” or “add variation,” which makes sense in theory, but I was hoping for more specific examples of what to change in the arrangement and why. After going through the material, my track still felt stuck in the same place, and I didn’t really come away feeling like I had learned much. It might be helpful if you’re brand new, but for where I’m at, it didn’t feel worth the time.

"Didn’t really work for me"
I tried the sound design stuff, but it just didn’t click. There was too much jumping around and not enough explanation of why things were being done, so it felt more like I was just copying steps instead of actually learning. I also ended up waiting in a queue longer than I expected, which made the whole experience even more frustrating. Overall, not really worth it for me

"Good lessons, but the layout could be better"
The lessons themselves are useful, but the course layout felt a bit all over the place at times. I found myself clicking around more than I expected just to figure out where to go next. It’s not a dealbreaker or anything, but it would be way easier to follow if everything was organized a little more clearly.

"The lessons felt kind of confusing to me…"
The lessons felt kind of confusing to me at times. I could tell there was useful information there, but I sometimes had to slow down and piece things together on my own. In a way, it made me realize how much clearer structure and simple explanations matter when you’re trying to actually learn something, not just get through it.

"Painfully slow, I couldn’t deal"
I swear this felt like it was moving in slow motion. The pacing dragged so much that I was practically begging for something to happen. I lost interest really fast and just couldn’t stick with it...

"Pretty decent, but not worth it for me"
I tried the subscription for a little while, but i didn’t really feel like I was getting enough value out of it. Some of the courses are okay, but for the price, I expected a lot more fresh content and updates. It just didn’t feel worth keeping for me

"Pricing just didn’t feel fair"
I really wanted to like Sonic Academy, and some of the courses are genuinely decent, but the pricing left a bad taste for me. It felt like every time I found something useful, I was being nudged to pay more or sign up for a subscription, almost like I had to beg for access to get the full value. After a while, that got frustrating and made me resent the whole experience a bit. With cheaper options out there, it just didn’t feel worth it for me.

"Videos felt outdated and frustrating"
I watched a few of the videos the quality just didn’t do it for me. The audio kept jumping up and down, some of the screen recordings were hard to see, and the whole thing felt dated. It reminded me of dealing with those automated phone systems where you’re already annoyed before you even get what you need. I wanted to focus on the lessons, but the production issues kept getting in the way. Not really worth it for me

"My subscription is hanging by a thread"
It feels like they barely update the content anymore, and that’s kind of the final straw for me. I kept waiting for something new or exciting to show up, but it’s been seriously underwhelming. At this point, keeping my subscription feels like tossing money into the void.

"Good lessons, but the billing feels a little off"
I’ve been happy with the lessons overall and feel like I’ve actually picked up a few useful things. The content is solid and easy enough to follow, so no complaints there.

That said, something feels off with how the subscription billing is laid out. I had to poke around to figure out when I’d be charged again, and I wish the price, renewal date, and cancellation steps were clearer before checkout. Nothing shady happened, but it could definitely be more upfront.

"Not the teaching style I needed"
The instructor definitely seemed to know the software, but personally, I need someone who explains things step by step. A lot of parts felt skipped over, and I kept wondering why certain actions were being done instead of really understanding them. Maybe it works for people who already have some background, but for me, it just wasn’t worth it

"Not great for total beginners"
I signed up as a complete beginner and, i felt lost quickly. Confusing. A lot of the lessons throw around terms like you already know what they mean, and the pace felt kind of all over the place at times. Maybe it works better if you’ve already made music before, but starting from zero, it just wasn’t clicking for me. Frustrating. I kept having to pause and Google things, and eventually I got annoyed enough to cancel

"I tried Sonic Academy hoping to pick up…"
I tried Sonic Academy hoping to pick up some practical workflow tips I could actually use in my own projects, but it just didn’t really land for me. A lot of the material felt either too basic or explained in a way that didn’t translate to what I was working on. I kept pausing and replaying parts, but I still felt lost, and it started to feel like the course just assumed I should already get it. Maybe it works better for other people, but for me it was frustrating and kind of made me feel dismissed rather than helped. Not really worth the time in my experience.

"Helpful Support, Just a Bit Slow"
I had trouble logging into my account, so I reached out to support thinking, okay, hopefully this gets sorted fast because I kind of need to use what I paid for. They did eventually get back to me and fixed the issue, which I appreciated, but it definitely took longer than I expected. Not a terrible experience or anything, just a little frustrating when you’re sitting there waiting. Once they answered, the help was actually useful.

"Not Really Built for Rock Producers"
I was hoping this would have a decent mix of sounds, but it feels like it’s mostly geared toward EDM. There’s not much here that’s actually useful for rock production. After browsing through it, I kind of felt misled, and it definitely made me trust the product description a bit less.

"The buffering really gets frustrating"
I really wanted to enjoy the videos, and at first I was excited to sit down and watch, but they buffer way too much. One minute I’m into it, and the next I’m just annoyed waiting for it to load again. It kind of takes all the fun out of the experience.
